Works, but no 'indicator light' to show surge protection is functioning Jul 13, 2010 Brought two of these the other day been using them for a week and they seem to work fine. Got these based on the reviews that they are cheap, simple, and works.
However, after a bit more research online I would pass on this purchase if I had to order it again. Apparently, most surge protectors have a 'indicator light' on the switch or device itself to show that surge protection is working. If the light goes out it means the surge protector was damaged in a past surge and is not longer offering protection and needs to be replaced. The device however will continue to function as a basic power strip.
This product has no such 'indicator light'. Therefore you can never tell if the surge protection is still working or not. Consequently, I would only recommend using this product for basic electronics that you don't care too much about e.g. phone chargers, etc. For more expensive electronics like home entertainment systems, TV's, or computers, I would go with a better product.

Do Not Buy! Flickers On and Off and Cannot Be Used! Mar 04, 2010 I bought this because it was cheap. Well, I got what I paid for. I plugged my TV, cable box, and wireless router into this strip and watched TV for awhile. It seemed to work fine. Then I walked across the room and opened a door and boom, all three of those devices went out. I'm not exaggerating, all it took was opening the door vigorously for the power to flicker and the devices to turn off. I went back and tried repositioning the power strip, turning it off, turning it back on, everything I could think of. Simply by moving it around, I would cause the power to flicker and the devices would turn off and then turn back on again a moment later when I moved the power strip again. I can't tell if it's because the switch on top is finicky -- it has an "off" position and a "reset" position, but no clearly marked "on" position, so the middle position must be "on" but the switch is so floppy and insubstantial that you can't tell what position it is in. The problem may also be that the internal wiring on my model is faulty, hence the flickering. Whatever the reason, it doesn't work. I plugged my devices back into the wall directly and they work fine. Spend a bit more and don't waste your money taking a chance on this power strip. I'm kind of irritated because it's not worth the hassle to send it back so I'll just have to go buy a better one at Target or someplace.
Cheap and works Jan 31, 2010 There's not too much to say about this surge protector. It's cheap and it provides power. I wish the outlets were rotated 90 degrees to make "wall warts" fit a bit better.
A practical and cheap power bar Nov 30, 2009 The Belkin 6 Outlet Home/Office Surge Protector is a practical power strip that offers basic protection, 6 outlets, and is slim. There's a standard warranty on the surge protector in the case it fails to do its job.
The only complaint I have about the power bar is that the power cable is short. I didn't realize how short 2.5 feet were until I tried to move the bar under my desk and couldn't get it that far under, away from the wall outlet.

Died after a month Nov 24, 2009 After using this surge protector for a month, it suddenly died. The only things that were plugged in it were a bedside lamp, a cell phone charger, and occasionally a laptop adapter.
I recommend against purchasing this surge protector, and instead spending a few more dollars to get a better model. The $10-13 ones are much better.
