The original PanaVise is known around the world as a work holding tool for hobbies, electronics, small home repairs and work bench environments! The easy-to-use single knob controls head movement through 3-planes: 90° Tilt, 360° Turn & 360° Rotation. Jaws are 2.5" (63.5mm) wide, 0.5" (12.6mm) tall and open to 2.25" (57.1mm). Nylon jaws offer excellent electrical insulation and gentle holding power [continuous heat tolerance up to 200°F (93°C), intermittent heat to 300°F (149°C)]. Interchangeable jaws available. Base accepts all 300 series Heads and any 5/8" (15.9mm) diameter post. Base features 4.3125" (109.5 mm) bolt circle countersunk for three 1/4" (6.3mm) flat-head screws (not included). Stout little vise. Jul 06, 2010
Very cool. I am enjoying my Panavise greatly. My concern was whether or not it would be sturdy enough to deal with light-duty metal working and hold pieces that are being hammered - without jiggling. It's is performing valiantly, no jiggling. It's a great little addition to my shop.

This is my second PanaVise, and I use them all the time for soldering, assembly, holding lights where I need them, pressing fittings, ... The plastic & metal replaceable jaws come in very handy.

This vice is incredibly useful for any light to moderate duty tasks. It has served me very well in both soldering and using a rotary tool for cutting.

I combined it immediately with the PanaVise 308 weighted base to bring it up from 3 pounds to a total of 8. The installation was trivial, and has meant this vice simply does not budge or tilt over. It also raises the vice so that the head can be positioned handle-up while the jaws are horizontal.

One relatively simple modification I would like to make to the vice would be to add a thumbscrew that would keep the head's handle from sliding around, but the vice is perfectly usable without such a change.

Overall, a great tool to have on hand!

PanaVise products, especially this standard vise rig, is almost always found in most electronic repair shops. Also handy just to have in your garage shop. I've owned this set for over twenty years and have most of the add-on products. You can't beat the quality and bang for the buck.

I bought Panavise devices 15 year ago and I use it to work on smt boards. It has a heavy base and it can support large TV smt boards including boards with high voltage flyback transformers. I have more than one Panavise device and use one to hold and position my heat gun and it supports it's weight and can be positioned in many directions.
